Ellen DeGeneres recently shared her struggle with “excruciating” back pain after contracting COVID-19 during the pandemic. After stepping away from her talk show amid workplace toxicity claims, she focused on animal conservation, including completing The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund in Rwanda.
DeGeneres updated fans on social media, surprised by back pain as a COVID symptom. Although not initially listed by the CDC, muscle aches were recognized, and the NHS explains that COVID can worsen pre-existing joint and muscle pain due to reduced activity. Studies also show a rise in back pain after COVID, especially among those who previously had none.
